Responsible for 50 bbl brewhouse production and SOP, brewhouse staff training, brewhouse troubleshooting and maintenance, oak barrel Burton union SOP, complete yeast brink, fermentation and bright tank CIP, and SOP. Recipe and process formulation and re-formulation. Orbisphere and Haffman SOP, titration and chemical handling SOP. Mid/closing shift DE filtration ( 20m2 ) with CIP. Filter training and adherence to SOP. Bright beer transfer SOP. Paneling for QC, QA, and collecting sterile samples. Responsible for mid shift, overnight and closing shift management, including plant shutdown procedures with bright tank, fermentation, brewing, waste water and reverse osmosis reports. Re-designed and planned expansion of existing brewery with 2 cylinder-conical 10 BBL fermentation vessels. Expanded glycol capabilities and installed refrigeration controls. Re-positioned hot liquor tank and coordinated, with engineers, the piping and pump capabilities to brewhouse diversion panel. 1/03-2/03

Beer Judge Certification Program, certified member
Completed the requirements set forth by the BJCP for recognized member status for amateur beer judging at all BJCP coordinated events within the AHA. Currently seeking requirements for certified member level of the BJCP. 03/01-present

Design and Construction, pilot brewery
Built a three vessel, half bbl R&D pilot system. Project was completed in 316 stainless. Installed brass and stainless ball valves, butterfly valves, TC fittings and internal CIP as well as product transport copper tubing, diversion panel with pump, sparge arm and vorlauf tray. Fit and installed stainless mash screens, thermometer and housing. 10/01

Independent Study, New England College, Henniker, New Hampshire
Co-designed and completed a course in zymology. Focused on fermentation from the initial period through glycolysis. Developed and completed introductory lessons on Gram staining, plating and detection of microorganisms, yeast vitality and viability studies, and propagation techniques with yeast storage. 1/00-4/00

Designed comprehensive, and later used, successful business plan for a microbrewery located in Grand Junction, Colorado.
